Oh my Glob, Recommendations!

IMG_5919

A while ago, a friend sent me this cute picture of Lumpy Space Princess. I love Adventure Time! Though I love seeing Lumpy Space Princess look so adorable, the fanart recommends the novel, Fangirl, by Rainbow Rowell and I think that was the real reason she sent it.

Admittedly, I haven’t read the book yet but a close friend of mine absolutely loves it. I hesitate to read it because I’m not so keen on the author’s writing style. I read Eleanor and Park and I think it is a beautiful love story but it lacks closure at the end.

Personally, I enjoy writing that has a continuous flow, which can be said for Rainbow Rowell’s style; however, I’d face disruptions in flow due to a reference that felt out of place. It didn’t help that I didn’t understand the reference either. It happened multiple times and it annoyed me.

I may eventually read Fangirl but it isn’t a priority. I’m still reading The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson, I love it so far. University, and all that falls under it, is very time consuming. I apologize for being inactive lately.

It is nearly impossible for me to find great books without recommendations. Would you like to recommend a novel, article, comic, or manga? The choice is yours!

Do you think I should read Fangirl?
